Donald Trump is calling on Senate Republicans to get to work.
On Friday, Trump called on the Senate to pass the $95 billion budget blueprint.
He said to the Senate, “We are ready to work side-by-side with the Senate to get this done for the American People!”
He also pointed out that the resolution could pass with a simple majority.
House Republicans passed the resolution.
President Donald Trump is ramping up pressure on Senate Republicans to quickly advance a $95 billion budget blueprint — even as the mood on Capitol Hill signals GOP senators are inclined to wait until later this year, if ever.
“I am asking that the Senate adopt a Budget Resolution, which can pass with a simple Majority, before leaving for the August recess,” Trump wrote Friday on Truth Social. “We are ready to work side-by-side with the Senate to get this done for the American People!”
House Republicans approved the budget resolution before leaving town for weeks. It’s the first step in a two-part plan to use the reconciliation process to bypass the Senate filibuster and pass billions in funding for the Iran war, farm assistance and election-related grants.
Trump once again sent a message to GOP Senators on Sunday.
Trump called on them to take a variety of actions, terminating the Filibuster, passing the Save America Act, and passing the budget.
The all Republican Senators! Terminate the Filibuster, which the Dumocrats will do as soon as they get the chance, and PASS THE SAVE AMERICA ACT, and everything else, including the Budget, and upcoming Debt Ceiling. Do it now, before it is too late!!! President DJT
Trump followed it up on Monday morning by calling on John Thune not to let the Senate leave town until they pass the Save America ACT.
John Thune should not allow the United States Senate to “leave town” until it passes The Save America Act or, far better still, TERMINATES THE FILIBUSTER, where Republicans can then quickly pass everything they ever dreamed of, including a full and deep throated SAVE AMERICA ACT, the Budget, and the ever looming Debt Ceiling disaster, 1929!
